The audio world is much more complex than the video world. In the audio world things are not as predictable, such as a room with many openings, windows, glass, splayed walls, domed ceilings, cement slab, wood flooring, etc. A rectangular room with sealed doors and windows can be very predictable and easier to set up. The rest requires a little more work and instrumentation. Remember the room should always be considered a part of the system.
Have you heard an expensive system that did not sound all that great? The surrounds were too loud and annoying, or they did not appear to be on. Or you may have heard an inexpensive system that sounded almost perfect. The reason being, the cheap system was set up properly by coincidence and the expensive system was just “put in the room”.
THE MANUFACTURERS ARE PRODUCING THE PRODUCT WITHOUT KNOWING WHAT YOUR ROOM IS LIKE!
