ISF Calibration

My first exposure to a calibrated TV was somewhere back in the 1900's (1996).  I remember exclaiming, "Oh my God, this can't be real."  It was a Toshiba rear projection CRT and it was on display in my audio video store in Santa Rosa, CA.  SONOMA SOUND MASTERS later changed it's name to AUDIO VIDEO SHOWROOM.  At the time there were only a handful of people that were calibrating displays in the USA or for that matter the world.  I had a craving to learn, but found no one willing to give up their secrets. After numerous phone calls (we really did not have much of an internet back then), I discovered an organization known as the Imaging Science Foundation run by Joel Silver out of Boca Raton, Florida.  His company was dedicated to providing calibration training so that I can provide you with the picture you paid for.

"There's a lot of ugly things in this world, son. I wish I could keep 'em all away from you. That's never possible."

Atticus Finch "To kill a mocking bird"

Once you have a properly calibrated DVD player, TV, Plasma, LCD, DLP. Lcos, Dila, etc., the results will be astounding!  Treat yourself to the excitement I experienced back in the 1900s and get out of your TV what it is capable of.  I have invested thousands of dollars in calibration equipment that its self needs to be calibrated at least once a year.  If calibrating a television were not worth it, believe me, I would not invest in the time or money to do this.  Look at the pictures I have posted and imagine your TV looking just as sharp!

"I never dreamed that any mere physical experience could be so stimulating!"

Katharine Hepburn "The African Queen"

The picture on the left is properly calibrated, every color is as the camera saw it. The picture on the right is not calibrated notice the blue haze and a lack of detail. The image is very soft. Both images are from a non high definition DVD player.  The same model projector was used in both photos except the calibrated screen on the left is nine feet wide and the screen on the right is only six and a half feet wide. The smaller screen should be much brighter and sharper, as you can see the larger picture on the left is significantly better. Please click on the images for a closer look.
